President Taft was elected President in 1908 until 1912.

He was the Rupublican Party's nominee and Roosevelt's choosen successor after being Roosevelt's Secretary of War. He ran against William Jennings Bryan, Eugene V. Debs, and Eugene W. Chafin. He pledged to carry on TR's environmental program, but soon left the plan and created one of his own.
